Formation of Cell:

          The Principal Progati College, Agomani with the concern of teaching staff has formed the following cell for smooth conduction of community based students on 17th December 2018.


Minority Cell


    Aim:

To facilitate minority students in their academic development.
To enhance equal opportunities for education of minorities.


    Objectives:

  1. To facilitate financial support to the minority students from Governmental agencies and other sources.
  2. To aware the minority students regarding various scholarships of state Govt. & UGC.
  3. To resolve the problems and needs of minority students.
  4. To ensure the protection of minorities as per the provision of constitution of India.

    Composition of cell:

  • Co-Ordinator – Dr. Abu Bakkar Mondal (Asstt. Prof. & H.O.D, Dept. of Arabic)
  • Members -

    1. Dr. Sanowar Hussain (Asstt. Prof. Dept. of Arabic)
    2. Mr. Mainul Hoque (Asstt. Prof. Dept. of Economics)

    OBC Cell


        Aim:

    To encourage the students of other backward classes for Higher Education by ensuring scholarships and adequate support.
    To assist OBC students in their curricular and co-curricular activities.


        Functions:

    1. Ensuring an environment where students of this category feel safe and secure.
    2. Making the OBC students aware of the various scholarship programmes of the Central Govt. & State Govt.
    3. Assisting students of OBC category to apply for various scholarships.
    4. Collecting data about students who have received scholarships.
    5. Carrying out capacity building programme for these students as per need.
    6. Providing the mechanism to redress the grievances of students from this community.
    7. Arrangement of remedial classes, special classes in co-operation with Head of the departments for these students.

    SC/ST Cell


        Aim:

    To empower SC/ST students in the college .
    Facilitating financial support to SC/ST students from Government agencies and other sources.


        Functions:

    1. To implement, monitor and evaluate the reservation policy of Government of India to comply with UGC regulations.
    2. To make aware of the various welfare policies and programmes of Government.
    3. To guide the SC/ST students regarding academic and personal issues.
    4. To ensure an environment for SC/ST students where they feel safe and secure.
    5. To arrange special opportunities for SC/ST students for academic growth.
    6. To ensure mechanism to redress the grievance of SC/ST students if any.
