Library

It is a fact of glad that Agomani had no provision in higher education system, but some high-minded people had decided to establisha college here.And these respected people, Mr. Monsur Ali Sarkar, Lt. Mr. Amanur Rahman, Lt. Mr. Paramananda Chakraborty, Mr. Mazibar Rahman, Mr. Ambika Charan Roy, Mr. Mantu Sarkar (Ismail Sarkar), Mr. Prahllad Paul, Mr. Gour Krishna Saha, Mr. Mofizuddin Sheikh, Lt. Mr. Golam Moullha, Mr. Pannalal Sancheti, some more other dignified persons contributed to establish this college in the year 1991.

The library, “Harendra Nath Paul memorial Library”is named in the name of Land donor Sri Harendra Nath Paul. Mr. Haridas Karmakar was first appointed as a Librarian in the year 1992.Working committee of the college inspection was appointed of Asstt. Librarian Mr. Joynal Abedin, Library Staff. Mrs. Sumitra Adhikary, Mr. Prafulla Kr. Roy and Mr. Babul Ch. Roy.

The college Library contains 10000 (Ten Thousand) books, moreover there are Journals, Story book, computer and various newspaper like leading Assomiya Pratidin, Niyomiya Barta, Assam Tribune. Each Students are provided Library Card through which books are submitted and returned every 15 days without failure.

There is a provision of reading room where Students can read daily as well as keep records of them. Books are also distributed to Students and Teachers also, so that they can study and research properly. Book Bank Facility is available for the poor Students.

Some gracious person in the area have donated valuable and quality books to improve the knowledge, among them the National Club, Agomani, Green Club Community, Agomani, and the names of some alumni are particularly noteworthy. These books are distributed to Students and teachers for reading. My gratitude and thanks to them will last forever……… A digital library is being set up with the Financial Support of the State Government of Assam to upgrade the library which is under construction. I will able to provide many more services for the benefit of Students and teachers.

The library is a repository of knowledge. It provides all kinds of information in the field of Education and information technology. My goal is to build Students and teachers research from this Library. It is my hope that the students are given a variety of information. So, that each Student will be developed, and become a responsible Citizen of the Country.

The H.N.P.M. Library has a reading room where Teachers, Students and Research persons of this College can read comfortably. The library provides them text books, reference books, journal, magazines, newspapers, novels, story books, guide books for competitive examination etc. The library remains open from 10.00 A.M. to 4.00 P.M. in the working days of the College.

The library maintains the following rule and regulations in distributing the books among the students.

1. Library issues Library Card for the students through which student can take and return books.
2. After 7 days the student should return the book from the date of issue.
3. Students should produce library card before the issue of books.
4. Library cards are being provided only to the students of this College.
5. The validity of Library card is three years from the date of admission in B.A. 1st Semester.
6. The Library also issues duplicate library cards as per the demand of the students.
7. The duplicate library card fee is Rs. 50/-.
8. Students are liable to pay the price of books if not returned.
9. Penalty/Fine will be imposed if any page or part of books is being damaged by them.
10. Keeping silence inside the room is mandatory.
