TIndia initiates National Service Scheme (N.S.S) in Gandhiji’s centenary year 1969. NSS is conducted by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. NSS is a voluntary association in the colleges, universities and at + 2 level working for a campus community ( specially in the villages).It is an extension dimension to the higher education system to orient the student youth to community service while they are studying in educational institutions.

In the past the themes of the special camping programmes have been “Youth against Famine”, “Youth against Dirt and Disease”, “Youth for Rural Reconstruction”, “Youth for eco-development”, “Youth for Mass Literacy”, “Healthy Youth for Healthy India”.

To recognize the voluntary service rendered by NSS volunteers various awards are offered.

  4. University level Awards.
  5. College level Awards.

Progati College, Agomani initiates N.S.S in 8th August 2022 and many students are already included in N.S.S and they are rendering their service sincerely.
