Department Faculty Courses offered

The department of Arabic was opened in the year of 1997 with a fruitful hand of eminent lecturer  Mr. Sultan Ahmed. Later on, in 1998 Dr. Abu Bakkar Mondal has been appointed as an Asstt. Professor of Arabic Dept. and he become the head of the department of Arabic and at present he is also working as the head of the Dept. till now. Mr. Moklesur Rahman and Dr. Sanowar Hussain has been running the Department smoothly. Since the beginning of the Department as well as introduce honours course in Arabic in 2006 has given strength on the development of Arabic language and literature. So as to the students are to achieve and gain proficiency and skill to their better placement within the country as well as broadly. 

The main objective of the Department is teaching and learning of language and literature including classical, modern, Indo-Arabic literature (Prose & Poetry), History, Grammar, SEC, Spoken Arabic and functional Arabic etc. At the under Graduate level. These parts of the learning give information to the learners about the multifarious characteristics of Arabic. The course containing the composition based on moral spiritual values, which guide the student to play and important role in the society. The department has been facilitating the learners to build their career and develop their character. One of the objectives of the department is to empower the students and prepare them to face the challenges of real life. 

The Vision of the Department of Arabic as:

1. To impart deep knowledge and Arabic language, literature and culture of the Arab World in order to strength the Indo-Arab relation.
2. Disseminating and knowledge of various disciplines available in the Arabic Texts, the department intends to inspire the students to undertake interdisciplinary research activities.
3. To improve the minority community of lower Assam especially Agomani and its surrounding areas through higher education, guiding them in right direction and enabling them to get job opportunities.
4. To popularize the Arabic different awareness program to be organized in the secondary and higher secondary schools.
5. The academic environment of the department helps a good number of passout student to take admission in the different universities like Gauhati University, Cotton State University, Assam University, Silchar and other Universities for Master Degree.
