About the Student Union

The college has a autonomous student union from the starting of the College, which is responsible for all representation of the students and elect the student members of different administrative organs.

The students’ union put together social events, sports and societies for a wide range of different hobbies and interests.

Every year student members are elected by the students in the election led by the college authority. It is independent of which main purpose is to represent the best interest of all students on the issues they may face related to academic area in the college.

Objectives:
  1. To provide a clean and comfortable environment where students, staffs, faculty and community can relax and interact society.
  2. To generate quality education among the students and quality extra-curricular activities of social, cultural and recreational.
  3. To provide the service for the smooth conduct of various annual programmes of the college.
  4. To assist in the personal development of students in the areas of leadership, moral and values certification, social responsibility, self-realization and interpersonal cooperation.
  5. To generate revenue to help sustain the operation of the facility, its programmes and its services.
Eligibility criteria for candidates:
  • Students between the ages of 17 and 22 may contest election.
  • The candidate should have minimum percentage of attendance prescribed by the University (75%).
  • The student should have no any academic arrears in the year of contesting the election.
  • The candidate shall have opportunity to contest for the one post only.
  • The candidate shall not have any previous criminal record.
  • The candidate must be regular and full-time student.
  • All candidates shall be prohibited from indulging all activities which are considered to be “Corrupt practices” and offences such as bribing of voters, impersonation of voters, use of propaganda within 100 meters of polling station,holding public meeting during the period of 24 hours ending with the hour fixed for the close of the poll, the transport and conveyance of voters to and from polling station.
  • Candidates may utilize only handmade posters and use of printed posters is strictly prohibited.
  • The candidates may utilize for posturing certain places in the campus which in advance may be notified by the election commission of the college.
  • The candidate may hold meeting or processions without disturbing the classes. For holding procession and meeting should have prior permission by the election commission of the college.
  • Maintaining law and order in the campus during the election process.
  • In addition to the above-mentioned code of conduct, it is also recommended that certain provisions of the Indian Panel Code, 1860 (Section 153A and Chapter 1xA-Offences relating to election) may also be made applicable to student election.
